Conrad and Kate Got Married

August 29th 1998

Well who would believe it unless they were actually there !! Kate Sarah Robinson agreed to marry Conrad Andrew Etherington. This page is dedicated to the day in question, and there should be links to a job lot of huge jpeg files that you can browse to your heart's content. Before we get to the list of thank yous, I would like to give you some history about how the pair of us met, met again, wrote to each other, met up in the States, fell in love etc etc etc. We first met one christmas in a great place called the Anchor Inn, Hartfield. I was a regular of the pub, and Kate was visiting the area on the behest of her friends and brother, Nick. I was taken aback by Kate's confidence, and she by my brashness. We continued to meet on the New Years visit for the next few years, but nothing untoward took place. Then this last New Year (1997) I announced to the crew that I was finally moving to Arizona to pursue my career at head office. This offended Kate, for reasons I had not worked out. After I moved out and got settled in, a letter arrived. This was from Kate, and I replied almost immediately. We then started chatting via e-mail, and I invited Kate out to visit for 3 weeks. After 2 weeks of her being with me, she decided to stay for another 2 months, so we arranged that. I had to return to the UK for a week, and in that time I met Kate's parents, and convinced them that I was actually a fairly nice chap, and suitable for their daughter. I returned with one thing set in my heart and head, this was the woman for me, and so I proposed. She accepted, and we decided to set a date, we decided that we preferred an informal ceremony, and so why not Las Vegas. We booked it up, flew there, and on Saturday 29th August we married.......... That's really all there is to it, but as you can tell from the photos, I am the happiest man alive, and dedicate this page to my wife.
